The Magento 2 Delivery instructions and delivery date extension allows customers to enter "delivery instructions", "order comments", "delivery date", and "delivery time" during checkout. This information gets saved with the order and can be viewed in the Magento admin panel under the delivery instruction section. Configuration Option is available to exclude certain dates from the delivery date using date picker selection.

Why do we need extension?

1. Allow customers to choose date and time of delivery

The extension makes delivery easy for customers, it offers options to select the desired date and time right on the checkout page. Customers can choose the preferred delivery arrival dates and specify the most comfortable time and they can also leave a message for delivery person with comments regarding the order.

2. Admin can define week-offs and special day delivery

The extension provides the flexibility to keep week-off days as available for delivery/shipment. It allows you to block all unavailable delivery dates on the calendar and updates the changes accordingly on the calendar. This feature helps alot in avoiding people selecting the dates when you can't deliver.

3. Can set holidays and vacation period from the back-end

Configuration option is available to exclude certain dates from the delivery date using date picker selection. This would disable the set dates or period on the calendar. Hence, customers can know about it and can't select the schedule delivery option for that particular time period. This helps to enable when you are on vacation mode to disable delivery of products. The extension will help to define your shipping schedule and exclude specific days or hours when the delivery is unavailable.

4. Delivery data gets stored with the transaction

Delivery instruction and delivery date information gets stored with the transaction which can be viewed against the order, invoice, shipment and refund in admin. Both customers and admin can view product shipment date and time in the order email and order information in the back end.

Here are the main features of this module-:

  • Delivery Instruction, Delivery date, and time slot options come during checkout.
  • Configuration Option is available to exclude certain dates from the delivery date using date picker selection. This feature could be useful for excluding Bank Holidays or Christmas Period.
  • Time slots can also be set in admin configuration which customers can select on the frontend.
  • Title of 'Delivery Instructions' label and maximum character count of delivery instructions can be managed via system configuration in admin.
  • Delivery date selection can be fully controlled from the admin panel, you can specify lead or processing time for your orders.
  • You can also specify cut off time in admin panel for next day deliveries.
  • Delivery instruction and Delivery Date information gets stored with the transaction which can be viewed against the order, invoice, shipment and refund in admin.
  • Delivery instruction and Delivery Date options do not appear on checkout for downloadable or virtual products as expected.
  • This module can be completely disabled whenever required via system configuration in admin.

A. Please login to your account and Go to My account section > From the left menu select Generate Dev License key > Enter the Dev site url and select the extension from the dropdown and click on generate to get the license key

Q. Does my license get expired after certain period?
A. No, your license is not going to get expired but we would highly recommend upgrading to get all the latest fixes (including security fixes if any), improvements and new features. Q.Where can I download the extension files?
A. Please login into your account on our website and go to the download link under my account section to download the extension package.
Q.Can you provide a key that works for our development (NOT PRODUCTION) environment which will work on a dynamic URL, for example, 12334.gitpod.com and 4567.gitpod.com?
A. Unfortunately it is not possible to generate license keys based on the dynamic URLs. License keys need to be generated per domain or subdomain whether it is production or non-production.
Q. We deliver all our orders after 48 hours, can we allow delivery date selection being after 2 days during checkout?
A. Yes, we have configuration where you can specify "Order processing time" where you can specify number of days
Q. We don't deliver next day order which are placed after 1 PM, can we set cut off time?
A. Yes, we have configuration where you can specify "Delivery date cut off time" after this time the delivery date can't be selected for next day delivery during checkout
Q. Can we exclude certain dates from delivery date calendar?
A. Yes, you can exclude date(s) in admin to not show in delivery date calendar during checkout
